When I was 12, I had actually decided that I wanted to be an auto-mechanic. I did a high school co-op at a shop and decided that it was not the career path for me. My backup plan was always to do something with animals and at one point I decided that I wanted to be an SPCA Officer. I then attended an agricultural fair at my high school and there were a few colleges that were showcasing their veterinary technician program.
After doing a little more research, I decided that this was the career path that I wanted to pursue. I attended the veterinary technician program at the University of Guelph, Alfred Campus where I graduated in December 2012. I joined the team in December 2016. I am very interested in dentistry! My short-term career goal is to pursue a dental certification program, and long-term career goal is to pursue a veterinary technician specialty in dentistry.
What I love most about my job is being able to combine animals (which I love) and the medical field (which I also love!) in one great package! It’s always a great feeling when you get to pursue your passion! My favourite thing about the clinic is the positive work environment and the amazing team that I get to work with every day!
I love to cook, bake and I am very crafty! My first pet was a hamster named Roxy.
