Recently Shanon (my favourite person – only because she feeds me) and Anne went on a tour of the Royal Canin Veterinary Diets food manufacturing facility. They were both impressed with the level of cleanliness of the facility. They said the place barely even had a dust! I might have enjoyed some dust if I was touring the plant because I’m sure it would have been tasty…
They were also very impressed with the level of testing that is done on all the pet food and treats. From the moment the raw ingredients are brought to the facility until the moment the finished product is put into bags or cans, the food is tested with the most advanced technology available. Royal Canin even has a machine that simulates the digestive tract so monitor how the food will be digested! I volunteered to be a “taste tester” but I haven’t heard back from the company yet…
Royal Canin has developed the pet food bags to be high tech too! The bags keep the food as fresh as possible. Shanon said that we need to keep my food in the bag all the time so that the food tastes good from the day the bag is opened until the very last kibble. She said that Royal Canin uses specific ingredients to insure that the food that I am eating is balance specifically for my needs as a mature cat. I’m glad that Shanon was so impressed with the facility and that she feels extremely confident when she tells her clients that the Royal Canin Veterinary Diets are highly digestible and nutritionally balanced. I would, however, just like to get back to crunching on my food. And where are those treats she brought me?
